And there are some great areas for biking around San Pedro.

  • Pacific Avenue has bike lanes all the way south to Shepard Street in the Pt. Fermin neighborhood. You can ride across Paseo del Mar to S. Weymouth Street and cut up to the Grassland Loop Trail to bypass the landslide that has closed Paseo del Mar in the White Point Nature Reserve.
  • Cabrillo Way Marina along Dave Arian Way south of 22nd Street is a beautiful reuse of former industrial property. You can ride to the Outer Harbor and SS Lane Victory with great views.

For great biking advice for this area and others in California, take a look at Richard Fox's book, enCYCLEpedia Southern California at

And we're just about an hour away from Catalina Island, which has a huge range of recreational opportunities.
